I have been supporting Swindon Cares over the last few years by entering a team at the quiz nights, running the London Marathon in 2013 and Swindon Half marathon in 2015, attending the High Sheriff’s concert and playing in the Swindon Cares Golf Tournaments every year.
Even though this often due to my mum, Jane Fox, badgering me, I have to say I have enjoyed every event I’ve attended.
(Mum plays a part in what is an amazing annual fundraising appeal)
Swindon Cares is made up of Swindon companies, schools, Rotary groups and individuals who want to support local Swindon charities. They organise fundraising events for them and have raised over £250,000 since 2003.
Attached PDF are the Swindon Cares Beneficiaries who they have supported over the years.
For the next 2 years they are raising funds for Swindon Women’s Aid; a domestic abuse service for residents living in the Swindon area and The Nelson Trust; who offer vulnerable women and families diverse and comprehensive support services.
Last year at the Swindon Cares Golf Day, I heard that the Charity were looking for someone to take on the gauntlet to organise their golf day for 2017. My great friend Anthony and myself have agreed to organise the event at our club, Wrag Barn Golf and Country Club in Swindon. We are also delighted that our employers (Anthony – Eurocarparts/ Chris – BCM Construction) have said they’d sponsor the day too. Tee Sponsorship, nearest the pin and longest drive sponsorship are all available for £40 each – Your sponsorship Logo will be required.
Attached PDF is the Poster/Entry form. I know there are many golf days during the year but if you can get along to this one you will be making a difference to some wonderful charities.
Please can you let me know as soon as possible if you are able to enter a team and we will pop you on the list and collect money later. We have had lots of interest and hope this is going to end up a full house.
Mine and Anthony’s telephone number is on the form. Please call us if you want any further information.
We do hope you can support the event and look forward to hearing from you soon. Also please feel free to forward round the attached Poster to whoever maybe interested.
