Ian Ridsdale, Director of Golf at Wrag Barn Golf Club has been celebrating after winning the Most Improved Partner of the Year award at the prestigious TGI Golf Partnership annual awards.
The ceremony, staged at the Double Tree by Hilton, Harrogate was attended by PGA Professionals from across the UK & Ireland as well as leading figures from the golf industry.
Ian saw off the challenge of more than 474 other PGA Professionals to scoop the award, which was decided by a panel of experts from the TGI Golf Partnership – golf’s leading retail services group.
“I am completely honoured and humbled to win this award,” said Ian. “It has been a rollercoaster couple of years in the golf industry and we have all had to adapt our businesses and the way our businesses work, probably for the better.
“The TGI Golf Partnership has been instrumental over the last 14 years in advising me on how to improve my business. I would especially like to thank the TGI Partnership team and my Pro Shop team who are always working hard to further the success of the business.”
The awards are decided by a panel of experienced judges, who said: “Ian has worked incredibly hard over the last 12 months to enhance the presentation of his shop, from the layout and signage to pricing, point of sale and traffic flows, he has really upped his game.
“His marketing has moved up a level too with high engagement with his members through his email marketing and social media presence.
“According to his Retail Consultant he has connected all the dots of his business to ensure an outstanding 2022 and a brighter future.”
